11+ Admissions

We believe passionately in the potential of every individual. We know that every girl has a talent which we will find and nurture and our aim is to provide the ideal environment in which she can flourish. We don’t look for girls to fit the FHS mould; we look for girls with the potential to succeed.

The Assessment Process

The assessment goes beyond testing cognitive ability alone and seeks to discover a child’s potential in creative and critical thinking, analysis, synthesis and problem-solving. This test is 100 minutes in total and is taken in the candidate’s current school, but where this is not possible, provision is made in all Consortium schools for candidates to sit the test there.

In addition to the assessment, all applicants are invited into Francis Holland, Sloane Square for an interview session in early January 2027 to assess their skills in problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity. We also request a reference from the Head of your daughter’s Junior School using a common reference form.

The interview and reference form important parts of the assessment process enabling us to get to know each child individually, thereby giving us a more complete picture of your daughter’s unique personality and ability.
